NEET UG 2026 application process (Feb-Mar 2026)

For filling the NEET application (National Testing Agency – NTA):

> Basic Documents

* Recent passport-size photographs (as per NTA specifications)

* Candidate’s signature (scanned)

* Left & right thumb/finger impressions (if asked during the process)

* Class 10 mark sheet & certificate (proof of Date of Birth)

*  Class 12 mark sheet/certificate or proof of appearing (if not passed yet) – for eligibility/education details

* Valid photo ID proof (uploadable):

* Aadhaar Card (preferred), or Passport / PAN Card / School ID / Ration Card etc.

>> For many states/years, you upload photos, signature & ID proof during the form fill-up itself rather than all certificates. But keep all originals ready for verification later.

2. Category / Reservation Certificates

Since you’re a student claiming Muslim Minority quota and also Backward Class (e.g., BC-E / OBC), you should prepare:

>> Category / Community Certificates

Muslim Minority Certificate
→ Issued by Minority Welfare Department/competent authority declaring religion status (Islam) – required for minority quota eligibility in some colleges/states.

BC / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer / Backward Class) Certificate
→ Issued by a Revenue Authority (like Tahsildar / SDM) in Central Government format if you want reservation under OBC/BC.

>>without these, you may be treated as General category for certain seats (especially central seats). So ensure certificates are in proper central/state format valid for the admission year.

3. Other Important Documents for NEET Counselling / Verification

Once NEET results are declared and counselling starts (State + All India Quota), you’ll need originals or uploadable soft copies:

>>NEET / Eligibility

NEET UG Admit Card (NTA)

NEET Scorecard / Rank Letter (NTA)

>> Academic Records

Class 10 certificate/marksheet (DOB proof)

Class 12 certificate & marksheet

Study certificates (Class 6 to 12) (if required by your state authority)

>> Identity & Residence Proof

Aadhaar card / other valid photo ID

Residence / Domicile certificate (in some states for state-quota seats)

>> Category / Special Certificates

Caste / BC-OBC certificate

Non-Creamy Layer certificate (for OBC eligibility under central counselling)

Minority certificate (for Muslim quota)

Income certificate (if applying under EWS category)

PwBD certificate (if applicable)

>> Other Counselling/Admission Docs

Transfer Certificate (TC)

Migration Certificate (if changing board/state)*

Character Certificate

Passport size photos (multiple copies)

Medical Fitness Certificate (may be asked at college)

4. Notes / Tips

Keep originals + self-attested copies of all documents ready for counselling verification.
Documents required for application form submission may be fewer, but verification at counselling time is strict and must include all proofs.
Formats matter: For OBC / Minority certificates, ensure they are issued by the competent authority and valid for the current academic year.
